Snapshot view of the workshop
DAY 1 am
The first day addresses and reviews the theory of 'adaptive leadership' as the contemporary leadership model, reviewing and extending the pre-work components. Relevant 'mindset' issues involved in authentic leadership are also explored. Characteristics and values of leadership are introduced and discussed.
DAY 1 pm
A highly useful and practical model for coaching your team members is introduced and explored, experientially in the group. The myth of motivation, and the concept of you and your people as purpose maximisers, are explored. This is followed by an extensive experiential component.
DAY 2 am
'Change is inevitable...growth is optional'. The relevancy of this to your team and organisation is explored. Practical tools to work with change are introduced and practiced in the group. Change, leading to innovation, is also explored and challenged.
DAY 2 pm
Conflict can be a very emotive word, however conflict will arise and can be successfully managed. This afternoon we focus on conflict or, to use a more positive-focused phrase, 'constructive controversy'. We also explore how to successfully engage with a team member who is exhibiting poor performance. This is followed by an extensive experiential component.
The two days are summarised by the group participants, with each person developing their specific, organisation-focused action plan.
This MASTERCLASS Leadership program will enable you to (as a minimum):
Describe the theory and best practice of 'adaptive leadership'
Define the role of a leader
Identify the goals of leadership
Demonstrate the skills required for conducting diverse team member interventions
Present effective feedback to team members
Recognise issues that may impact on the leader-team member relationship
Practice sessions based on real issues - please be prepared to bring relevant issues with you to work on during the workshop (no role plays).
The MASTERCLASS Leadership program includes these components:
Reading of three relevant papers relating to leadership
2 days of face-to-face training, including real-time non-role play opportunities.
